Spring Racing season is AJR’s championship season. Boats will compete in 2000m races head to head against other crews. Racing culminates at the USRowing Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships, where boats will have the opportunity to race in an effort to qualify for USRowing Youth National Championships.
The Annapolis Junior Rowing Association (AJR) Spring 2026 Season is open to all male and female athletes in the 9th through 12th grade. AJR’s focus is sweep rowing, primarily in 4+s and 8+s. Practices will consist of workouts on the water, erg training and land workouts (conditioning). Athletes will build strength and endurance while learning technique, teamwork and personal responsibility.
Athletes are expected to attend all practices; including spring break. AJR follows the AACPS spring break schedule and will be hosting training sessions. (March 30-April 3)
Athletes need to provide a medical release form or statement from a medical professional stating the athlete is cleared to fully participate in the rowing season, including racing.
